Reasons Why Teens Love The Studio Chair

Chairs are important fixture in any building – be it residential or office. The evolution of the chair is a long story and the different kinds of chairs are too many to count. The most common however are the living room chair and the dining room chair. These are the chairs that must be present in every home. The studio chair can be an accessory in the bedroom. Many love to have a studio chair because they make use of it as a sleeper chair.

What is the outstanding characteristic of a studio chair? Many teens and even pre-teens want to accessorize their rooms with a studio chair, especially the sleeper studio chair. On first look, this chair may look bulky. The whole structure is covered with upholstery – more beautiful when it is one solid color. The chair is comfortable to rest on. There are kinds that conform to the shape or contours of the body. There are no points in the studio chair that will make sitting uncomfortable. Studio chairs can be moved around and can be converted into a single sleeper. The studio chair has no rigid edges thus making it very appropriate for children.

Shape and design

Most common shape of the studio chair is rectangular. It is angular without sharp edges. Most of the studio chair’s edges are rounded, softly cushioned with thick foam. It has  a low back. Both the seat and the back are soft and cushioned. The design is simple, very plain. What makes it outstanding is the color of the upholstery. There are models that are foldable and can be transformed into sleeping bed. The size may differ – single, twin or double, depending upon future use.

Materials

On the outside, it would seem that the studio chair is made of foam only wrapped in fabric. But just like many sofa chair, it has a base – of wood. The lumber may be just an ordinary lumber but definitely treated to preempt breeding of termites. The same wood is used to cover the whole frame, from the seat to the back rest. The whole structure of the studio chair is lavishly   covered with good quality foam which accounts for the chair’s softness and comfortable feel. The foam will then be upholstered. But underneath the foam are good quality spring coil to provide synthetic web suspension. The choice of covering or upholstery will give the final touch to the studio chair. The upholstery will make the difference in the appearance of the chair. So, what are the choices for the final touch? There are many fabrics that can be used. But the best are thick fabric materials. Polyester fabric is good choice for the upholstery; corduroy is also recommended.  The color of the fabric can be made to conform to the motif of the room where the studio chair will be situated. Striped, checkered, flower prints or solid colors are often chosen but everything still depends on the décor of the room. Leatherette or leather can also be used but if the chair is used also as sleeper, the leatherette may not be comfortable for sleeping.

Uses of the studio chair

The studio chair is much desired because of it is comfortable, soft and can be transformed into a sleeper bed. With a studio chair inside the bedroom, it could serve as another bed that can be used by an extra person or guest.

The studio chair may be uncommon to many. But a number of the younger generations go for this type of chair. Sometimes it becomes an obsession to have one inside the bedroom.
